Yuki Kajiura, .Hack//Liminality

I did try to pick my fave tracks from the 3 “.Hack//Sign” OSTs but I felt like I was forced to pick something rather than choosing with pleasure.

So I just skipped directly to the “.Hack//Liminality” Ost (2002) featuring one of the best Kajiura track ever, “Liminality”. Damn that song is so very beautiful. I even chose it to be one of my funeral songs (I know I don’t sound very joyful and optimistic).

Anyway, here are my favorite tracks from this OST. Please listen to Liminality, you have to, it’s so beautiful it’ll make your day!
I promise. It is those kind of songs that manage to turn your feelings and soul upside down that totally make me fall for Kajiura.
I’m so in love with her when she creates something so magnificent. My hear cries ocean when I listen to her work.

I’ll work on more Yuki Kajiura reviews, so stay tuned! I didn’t want to do a “Tsubasa Chronicle” review because it was going to be too long (it’s like 80 songs or so, over 4 OSTs ) but after doing the Ayumi Hamasaki post, it seems like it’s a drop in the ocean.
And it’s Yuki Kajiura, so I’ll do whatever it takes to show her grandeur to the world! Mua- hahahahahahaha -cough- my devilish plan is put into action.

If you are not already a Kajiura lover, then by the end of all those posts, you’ll definitely become one. (Which means I have to share her…-sigh- and not keep her to myself -double sigh-)

1. Liminality ~Full Version: Sung by Yuri Kasahara, who else? (sounds like the Nescafé Clooney commercial) Her voice is wonderful, the song is heartbreaking, strained with emotion.

2. Liminality#3: There are 4 versions of Liminality in that OST. I didn’t put #1. Get the soundtrack if you want to hear it. It sounds scary doesn’t it? Almost ghost-like at the beginning. But when the music chimes in, it gest so much warmer, you feel wrapped in Yuri’s voice. But it’s not long enough…

3. Liminality#2: Damn, it’s so beautiful. Intense blissfulness in such a short amount of time. It leaves me so lonely when it’s over.

4. Epitaph: It’s starts simply with a piano solo. Then comes along some beats, and then chimes in the violin in a beautiful dance. Very interesting track.

5. Humiliation: It starts very slowly and calmly. Very soothing intro, you can close your eyes and float. It’s so peaceful until you hear some agitation, jazzy beats come along to end the track.

6. Mai: Typical Kajiuran composition with the violin. You cannot mistake it.

7. Tasagore no Umi: The Ending theme of .Hack//Liminality.

One Response to Yuki Kajiura, .Hack//Liminality
