I told you I was running out of interesting topics!
But isn’t that blog named “egocentric”? Therefore, back to the roots, I’m gonna write about that blog!
First, I would like to thank you for dropping by so regularly and I’m enchanted when people drop some comments now and then.
(Japanese bow)
After 3 and a half month of service, this blogs is gathering more than 300 viewers every day. We’re mid july and there have been already 5000 visitors. I’m glad my rambling didn’t scare off too many people (thank you - bow-).
But after that much time, I’m not sure if everyone uses all the functions available on that blog. So I’m here to list it for you.
Well, I’m not saying that you are too dumb to know how to browse that blog, I just point out those functions because:
1/ I’m proud of it
2/ They are well hidden
3/ I have discovered them myself only lately after putting that blog online… (yes, you can laugh)
So here are the main functions:
1/ SEARCH function:
When you pull on the “PULL” tag, you can see there is a SEARCH function. Ok that’s simple. But the thing is that I only allowed one post to be displayed per page.
So you might have numerous “results” to your search, but they won’t be all displayed on the same page. So you have to hit “Previous” at the bottom of the page to see the rest!!!
That’s the main trick…
2/ RSS Feed:
While the header is displayed, you can browse around the different categories, links, rambling about me etc… But if you do like that blog you can suscribe to the RSS Feed.
Well I didn’t know what the heck this was for… Until my friend asked me about it to follow my progress.
If you suscribe to that feed, it will tell you whenever a new post is online…It’s practical when you are following several blogs or if you want to be quickly alerted of a new post.
So If you like the egocentric blog, suscribe!
3/Toggle similar:
When you read on of the post and you happen to like the topic. Then just click on the title of the post and you will “enter” the post. Like that, you can either drop a comment, or “toggle similar” posts.
You just click on “Toggle similar”, and you will see a list of related post unravelling.
There are several “tags” or “key words” that I put on the post, so if you are more interested by one specific keyword, just click on it and you will see displayed before your eyes a list of related posts “similarly tagged post”.
4/Comments RSS feed:
If you are nice and interested enough to let us know about your opinion by dropping a comment. You might also want to follow it up by suscribing to the RSS feed of the comment thread.
I’m sure you did notice at the very bottom of the blog the:
“Most popular post” as well as the
“Latest comments”
and you can also search the blog by archive.
I love to check which article is the most popular, it’s very funny to see people’s interest!
