Karaoke, Money

Karaoke means “no orchestra”, from kara = “empty” or “void” and oke, the short for ōkesutora “orchestra”.

Japanese singer Inoue Daisuke was asked by frequent guests in the Utagoe Kissa, where he performed, to provide a recording of his performance so that they could sing along on a company-sponsored vacation. That’s how Karaoke started in Japan in the 70’s to finally spread out in the 80’s in western countries.

Karaoke is nice to perform (even though you don’t know how to sing), but also nice to watch (especially when people don’t know how to sing), no wonder why Japanese people are so fond of it.

Who knew Karaoke could be THAT MUCH fun ? Here an example of a fun Karaoke session.
I laughed my ass off when I saw that, it’s really funny.

Pay attention to the girl on the right, she is really a phenomenon.
