I like to make Best ofs of Best ofs. Like my favorite selection of songs from the Maaya Sakamoto “Nicopachi” Best of.
Today, I’m glad to present to you my favorite songs from the Kokia best of CD “Pearl, The Best Collection”.

Kokia

1. So much love for you: Please bear with the intro because the chorus is really worth it. It just gets under your skin.

2. Ai no Melody: Here again, the catchy chorus is a “must hear”.

3. The power of smile: No waste of time, from the intro to the chorus, everything is catchy. There is something with that intro that is very captivating and original.

4. I believe: I was hesitating whether to put that song or not in the playlist. I finally decided to insert it. Just for the singing performance. It’s a slow. Long intro that gives way to a high pitch chorus. Beautiful song.

5. Chouwa Oto ~with reflection~: What I love about that song is the tradionnal Japanese chant! It is really a beautiful blend between pop music arrangements and tradionnal music. That’s also that kind of mix we can find in the “Ghost In the Shell” soundtrack by Kenji Kawai. It is exquisite. A little “Pearl”. I can’t get tired of it.
