Freshly released on July 25 2007, here are my favorite tracks of this wonderful soundtrack that makes us travel throughout the desertic Mexican landscape.
It’ll will probably be my last Kajiura post before I fly to Hong Kong, even if this post is only published on August, I wrote it on 26 July. I could always review “Circus”, but it’s not really an album, it’s rather a compilation with songs we already know.
Maybe I’ll post my favorite “new” song… We’ll see.
I will certainly update that blog less often, so I apologize in advance.
But for the moment, let me remind you how great my Yuki is, it’s not the kind of soundtracks I’m so fond of (Mai Hime, Mai Otome, Xenosaga, Tsubasa Chronicle, .Hack Liminality…) but it’s still great, more Madlax-like.
She really managed to compose a music that totally fits with the scenario and the scenery.
There are 17 tracks in that OST, so I tried hard to limit my “favorites” to 8 tracks.
1. El Cazador: The main action theme of the anime. I love it. When I watch the anime, I really try hard not to forget about the background music and focus on it. It’s a hard job, but the plot so far is not so great (unlike Claymore) so I can manage to do that.
2. Maxwell’s Witch: It starts with incantations, this track really conveys an eerie ambience. The chorus and voice are sung by YUUKA.
2. Desert Sunset: Beautiful inviting flute. When the strings play the chorus it’s really wonderful. Ah….
4. The ballad of a bounty hunter: Intriguing mysterious guitar with a far west style harmonica. It’s starts quite solemnly but then it really rocks when the drums chime in. The electric guitar is awesome! I love that harmonica theme.
5. Hit it and run!:I find the beginning very western-like. This is another action theme. I totally love it.
6. Ennui: (Boredom) Sad guitar solo.
7. Inca rose: Very nice song. The chants are awesome. I don’t know who sings, the credits are written in Japanese.
8. Forest: Sung by Emily Bedinger who has already collaborated with Master Kajiura in the Hack//Sign OST, you will find below the video excerpt featuring “Forest”.
Is ‘cazador del amor’ a Japanese translation of ‘El Cazador’?
